Things I Like | Week 8

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Last weekend was such a great weekend. The sun was out which already makes up for 50% of my happiness. I am definitely one of those people that can get a little down during these cold and dark winter months, and the sun lifts my spirit right up, even though it is still quite chilly out.

I did a good house clean-up with my mom on Saturday. We cleaned and organized the kitchen, mopped the floors and washed the windows for an early spring cleaning. I was even able to open up all the windows and doors to get some fresh air blowing through the house.

On Sunday, I started my day by riding my bike to a Pilates lesson, followed by a study date with Carmen at Dudok. Never thought I would be able to focus enough to study in a busy café with a friend, but we were surprisingly focused, having a little lunch break to catch up, and able to get right back into our work afterwards.

It just feels so good to be productive with things like cleaning and studying and to have fun at the same time.

I finally got around to hanging some frames in my hallway.
The top one is a hand painted print I bought in Ghana many years ago, and I’ve been looking for a place for it since I go my own home.

The second one is a print I bought from Desenio.nl a while back. It was in my bedroom at first, but wanted it to have a nice place on this wall.
I still have a third frame to go below these two, but haven’t found a print I wanted yet.

Here are a few Things I Like at the moment:

One | Maandag na de Zondag – Briefje van Marlou

For the Dutch readers, I read about this article in the Volkskrant in Marlou’s ‘briefje’, an e-mail that she sends every other Monday. It’s a great article to read if you want to know how you can help the environment. It’s as easy as looking in your own purse and make a few conscious choices.
And subscribe to Marlou’s newsletter! It’s so much fun.

Two | Nourished Nederland

This weeks great Insta find is Nourished Nederland. I haven’t ordered anything yet, but I have a few items in my shopping cart right now. They offer the most natural and safe products from Australia right here in the Netherlands.  Their products are natural, vegan and cruelty free, which is something I try to incorporate more and more into my life and the products I use.

In my shopping cart is this Deodorant crème by Soapwalla, this Eucalyptus and White clay shaving soap by Cedar + Stone and their Pine and Pumice scrub bar. And if I keep up the Yoga and Pilates lessons, I want to give this Yoga mat spray by Bondi Wash a try.

Once I’ve ordered and use them, I’ll let you all know what I think.

Three | Lush Jade Roller

About a week ago I purchased the Jade Roller from Lush and I’ve been using it every night to take off my make-up and clean my face. I love it. It’s so soft, smells great and really takes off all my make-up without me needing to use any harsh products on my skin.

Four | Creative Life and a Bullet Journal workshop

Finally decided to go to the Creative Life Event on March 30th.
A big reason was the workshop I’ll be joining given by Goudenlijntjes, who I’ve been following on Instagram for a while now. I was so happy I got her book for Christmas.

Now I’m just looking for another great workshop to do at the Event during that day, but there are so many good ones to choose from.
Do any of my Dutch readers have any suggestions?

Five | Kae Sutherland x NA-KD

Recently ordered this Dotted Chiffon Blouse from the NA-KD collaboration with Kae Sutherland and it looks so cute on.

Currently reading: I just finished reading I was here by Gayle Forman. This books been sitting on my shelves for a long time and I was finally ready to read it.
My next choice, I think, is either going to be The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah or Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng.

Currently watching: I’m a bit all over the place with my Netflix watching.
For some reason I got stuck on season 4 of Arrow, not having watched it for a few weeks now. Season 6 of Suits is out on NL Netflix so that’s next on my list and I’ve been re-watching some of my favorite TVD episodes. Just really missed the show after listening to the Candice and Kayla’s Podcast.

Currently listening: Still listening to the Directionally Challenged podcast. They do a new episode every week now and I love it. Cannot wait to listen to the latest with Michael Trevino.
